Adoption
Our adoption department is managed by a team of knowledgeable lawyers who are well conversant with the Adoption process in Kenya. We also have a sound relationship with the local Adoption Agencies such as Little Angels and Thomas Barnados Children’s Home.
The Kenyan Adotpion process entails the following in a nutshell:
a) Pre requisites.

The Adopting person must be between 25 and 65 years of age and must be 21 years older than the child.

In case of a joint application parties must have been married to one another for at least 3 years.
b) Formal Application: When one meets the above requirements an application form is issued by the adoption agency.
c) Joint Interview: the applicants will then go through a joint interview at the adoption agency offices.
d) Individual interviews: the Adoption agency will visit the applicant’s home, later the agency’s case committee will either approve, refer or reject the application.
e) If approved the legal process will commence by filing the adoption application in court. This process might take around three months to conclude.
